After receiving a shock call-up to Northern Ireland's end of season trip to the USA, Johnny Gorman made his full-international debut against Turkey in Connecticut on Wednesday, 26th May. A young and relatively inexperienced Northern Ireland side took to the pitch in sweltering temperatures to face a Turkish side that boasted players of the calibre of Bayern Munich's Altintop, who had collected a Champions League Runners Up medal only the week before this fixture. Substituted after 66 minutes, Johnny had clearly impressed sufficiently to feature prominently in a number of post-match reports. Flying to Santiago to face World Cup finalists Chile, Johnny won his second cap in a narrow 1-0 defeat. In fact, Johnny had arguably Northern Ireland's best chance to score in the game. We are tremendously proud of Johnny's magnificent achievement and hope that these two caps are the first of many in what looks set to become an exciting professional footballing career.
