Repton School’s Art Department might not be the first place you would expect to find an England international cricketer, but yesterday it played host to fast bowler James Anderson, ranked one of the top three bowlers on the planet.

James, who has played in 58 tests and 139 One Day Internationals, was taking part in a cover shoot for the next issue of All Out Cricket. Edited by Repton’s cricket professional Andy Afford, James is serving as guest editor for this issue, which will be available in shops in around 5 weeks’ time.
The shoot featured James and some superb artwork, specially created by Director of Art Jeremy Bournon and a select group of A Level art students, and James was kind enough to sign the England shirt he wore, which will be displayed in due course.
After some lengthy interviews for the magazine, James even found time to visit the Donald Carr prep schools cricket competition, delighting the young cricketers by giving autographs – a large number padded up after lunch with his signature across their bats!
James seemed to enjoy himself, tweeting to his 174,000 followers about his time in school, and it certainly was a day to remember for many of Repton's artists and cricketers, altough perhaps the best news of the day came when James confirmed that his injured side ‘should be okay’ for the final test against Sri Lanka, which starts on Thursday 16th!
Some photos of the day can be viewed here.
