House Unison highly recommended!

House Unison highly recommended!

We always knew it was a tall order to sing Bohemian Rhapsody especially without harmonies, but Garden girls did an outstanding job on Friday. They sang with emotion, clarity and precision impressing the audience. The standard was incredibly high but they thoroughly deserved the Highly Recommended trophy as it was such an accomplished rendition of the Queen classic. I must congratulate Siobhan Peterson who led the Unison with warmth, discipline, humour and a clear vision. She really was incredible and could have an extremely successful career as a headmistress as she had the whole house eating out of her hand! Mr Pares was instrumental in our success helping us with the finer tuning and rhythms. The girls all thought he was so helpful and incredibly talented as our accompanist.

The party afterwards was enjoyed by all and I have never seen 15 extra huge pizzas devoured in under 5 minutes before! Goats cheese and balsamic vinegar highly recommended!!

Saturday night saw the House Harmony competition and our group managed to sing a beautiful rendition of Adele's Set Fire to the Rain despite having had very little time for rehearsal. The group was made up of  Amy, Ellie, Tamsin, Lauren P, Grace, Sarah W, Caitlin, Hannah M, Georgia and Radha and Ellie Rayfield had done a wonderful job of arranging the harmonies. We are lucky to have such strong voices coming in at B Block level and Caitlin wowed the audience with her powerful soulful voice at the beginning and end of the song.

WELL DONE GARDEN GIRLS!
