The Garden girls proved yet again that they are the best swimmers. This year our loss of last year's U6 swimmers was replaced by the likes of Georgia Bridgen, Rosie Knight and Francesca Doughty - all fantastically strong swimmers. Georgia Bridgen had little competition in her races and won one by 25 metres! Rosie Knight won the Junior Medley, Meg Ewins the Senior 50m breaststroke, Charlie Perkins the Intermediate breaststroke and Francesca Doughty the Junior! Louise Mallinder and Rosie both won their repsective back stroke events whilst Pip Sanders, Hannah Ewins and Georgia Bridgen all took the Butterfly trophies. Francesca and Rosie also won the 50m and 100m freestyle before Garden then secured 4 out 6 relay races. Field were our closest rivals and put up a good fight but winning 16 out of 24 races was quite a feat and certainly one for all the girls to be proud of. Beth Drew swam her heart out as usual, and we could not have won without the full strength of the team in the relay (which scored double points) and taking second places in other races. Thank you then to Amelia Drabble, Hannah Chantler, Sarah Pope, Caitlin Furniss, Steph Fearn, Camilla Chantler (who really can swim and how did she not swim last year!) Erica Sanders, Caitlin Chadwick, Amy Furness and Dani Croson (who swam despite her ankle injury!). Time keepers Rebecca, Esther and Alice also worked hard all afternoon. Thank you to Mrs Rushton for organising the event and well done again girls - you did the Garden proud!
