In spite of our victory in the Caroline Tyler Relays earlier this term The Orchard entered the Inter-House Swimming Competition with feelings of anxiety and apprehension.
The pressure was on in particular to hold our title as swimming champions over many previous years. We can safely say we nailed it! Confidence levels soared with each passing event with great swims from everyone who took part. Perhaps most noteworthy were the superbly commanding and assured swims from individuals including George Gould (A Block), Ben Nevill, Dan Vincent (both O Block), and George Moss (L6). With each passing event the title appeared more and more secure, as the opposition were left in our wakes.
It was also great to see a huge amount of support not only on poolside, but also from the balcony, which helped to raise morale.
Overall this was a thoroughly deserved victory, and one of which we can feel very proud! Well done to everyone that took part!
