Stunning performances in the House Music Finals

I was very proud to watch all the Garden girls who were in the final of the House music competition. Amy played the flute first, impressing the adjudicator with her accomplished performance of Quantz's Concerto in G minor, 3rd mvt. Not surprisingly she won Highly Commended. Alicia's Allegro on the flute showed great promise and she seemed unfazed by performing in front of an audience. Charlotte's Dance of the Blessed Spirits on the flute showed that she has a talent that she needs to nurture and was really aprreciated by the audience.

Rebekah, a talented musician who plays a key role in Garden music events, played Handel's Alla breve, Sonata in Dm with her usual musicality and confidence in her own ability. Sue, our Matron thoroughly enjoyed watching Grace play Schubert's Two Waltzes, where she maintained a steady tempo and entertained the audience. Alex Rotheroe was the last to perform but by no means the least. Alex is another gifted musician who contributes so much to the Garden and who played a wonderful rendition of When the Tide Comes in.

You will be able to hear these performances yourself if you come to our Sale of Work Dinner (the theme is International) on January the 9th! Please email jpm@repton.org.uk for more information or if you would like to attend.

Well done to all our girls who are working so hard this year in the Music School and a big thank you to the Music Department for their dedication.
