Hockey Writers' Award

OR Jo Leigh (G ‘09) has won the Hockey Writers’ Club Youth Award at a glittering reception at Royal Thames Yacht Club in London. Last year’s School Captain of Hockey, Jo won three National titles, whilst at Repton. She also captained the England Under-18 team to a bronze medal at the European Cup last July and is currently a member of the England Under-21 squad. 



Jo is now studying Geography at Bristol University and has joined Premiership club Clifton. On receiving the award Jo said : “I am thrilled to receive this award. Last year the Europeans were an absolute highlight but next year is a big one too with the Junior World Cup. I suppose the ultimate aim for me is Rio 2016.”

Director of Hockey, Martin Jones commented: “I am confident that Jo will become a senior international player and I look forward to see her becoming a goal-scoring midfielder for England and Great Britain.”
