The Mitre has been heavily involved in the recent success of the school hockey teams in their bid to become U18 National Indoor and outdoor champions.
Ellie Green, Captain of Hockey (U6M), was excellent on Radio Derby talking about the prospects of the team in the upcoming Indoor competition. Ellie will now lead her team into the Indoor finals at the Trent FM arena in Nottingham on Saturday night for Repton’s bid to take the Indoor U18 title. Last time Ellie played in an Indoor final she was in the U16 team (2007) and scored 2 of the winning goals. After Saturdays event she will then lead her team in their bid to become outdoor champions for the sixth consecutive year.
On Sunday, Laura Smith (L6M) will play in the indoor finals for her club Belper against another Mitre girl – Abi Krone (U6M) playing in the same final for her club Beeston.
All three girls have invested a great deal of time and effort in their training and all of Mitre wish them the very best for their competitions on Saturday and Sunday in what promises to be a nail biting weekend of hockey.
