This Thursday Repton will be treated to a visit from Luke Wright, one of the country’s foremost poets, and a progressive and inspirational performer.

A contact of Tristram Fane-Saunders (O), future Cambridge undergraduate and himself a budding performance poet, Luke will lead a creative writing workshop in the afternoon, before giving a performance of his work at 7.30pm in the Beldam Hall, which is open to all pupils and the public, free of charge.
Fond of mixing his poetry with anecdotal stand-up when performing, Luke has received fantastic reviews for his performances since making his solo debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2006, and is a regular fixture on radio and television - he has been a resident poet on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live since 2008, has featured as a panellist on BBC2’s Newsnight Review, and wrote Channel 4’s acclaimed 2009 documentary Seven Ages of Love.
After Luke’s recent visit to Eton College, Housemaster and English teacher Jonathan Newton remarked that 'Luke Wright is everything a visiting writer should be. He smashes down students' preconceptions about poetry as boring or irrelevant with a performance that is both thought provoking and very funny.'
