Hat Trick of National Finals

Hat Trick of National Finals

The 1st XI football team have made it through to the U18 ISFA Finals after a 2-1 semi-final defeat of Manchester Grammar School on Monday.

With Manchester having to give up home advantage due to their frozen pitch we were glad to host the match a fortnight after the original date and the boys were well supported by an enthusiastic crowd. Johnny Gorman (L6C) and Ndu Chilaka (U6P) were the goal scorers of the day in what was a tight game.

Manchester played well and probably had the higher share of possession and territory; we have played better this season. This game however was all about the result and reversing the trend of four Boodles ISFA Semi Final defeats by securing a place in our first Boodles ISFA Cup Final. The final, against old rivals Shrewsbury, is one of the oldest school fixtures in the country, with the first match being played in 1894 resulting in a 2-1 win to Repton, let’s hope that we can match or better this score some one-hundred and sixteen years later. This fixture will take place on Thursday 11th March at the potential World Cup venue of Stadium MK, Milton Keynes Dons FC. The guest of Honour will be FA Chief Executive, Mr Ian Watmore. Kick-off is at 7:00pm and all are warmly welcome to support the team.

There are two ticket options. Standard tickets costing £5.00 are available via the School (please contact Sandra Critchlow on 01283 559200 or sandra@repton.org.uk) or on the gate. Executive Hospitality Tickets are priced at £25, applications for these tickets must be received no later than Saturday 6th March, please click here for purchasing details.
