The Abbey made a magnificent contribution to this year’s Sale of Work event. Great credit must be given to all of the girls, who managed stalls and helped throughout Saturday afternoon. It was enjoyed by members of the school, parents and families from the village community.

The takings at The Abbey’s stalls was £750. Our attractions included a Lucky dip, the ever-popular Candy Floss stall and a raffle for a huge hamper (featuring many generous donations from parents). The girls also promoted their successful Sweet Nothings service, which passes messages between students.

As usual, the Lower 6th have been given control of all of our fundraising as an organisational challenge, and it is clear that they are relishing the opportunity to seek responsibility and show their potential as leaders and great team players.
From the first day of term, the L6 girls showed their professionalism and commitment when the whole year group set up working parties to manage the Sale of Work, Cabaret and 6th Form Dinner.

Mrs Wilbraham has been very impressed by the planning and motivational skills shown so far. The L6 girls have also been well supported by the whole House.
We now look forward to The Cabaret to be held on Saturday. Owing to the success of previous events, the tickets sold out very quickly. The girls have been rehearsing for several weeks for performances on the theme of Divas and they’re sounding really good!
