Match Report:
The 1st XI finished off an impressive half of term in a professional manner and comfortably progressed to the Midlands Zone round which is to be played in late November. Players were regularly rotated on and off but, despite this, the girls managed to maintain a rythym and fluidity that previous Repton 1st XI's haven't been able to.

A real asset of this Repton team is their ability to make scoring goals look really straightforward - this requires consistently getting players in to dangerous positions and the ability of the ball carrier to be unselfish. Most of the twenty two open play goals were scored from within a few metres thanks to exactly this. Friedi Juncker, who has been flitting between the 1st XI and the 2nd XI, proved her worth at this level and scored all her goals from close range after getting herself in to the right place at the right time.

Jo Leigh scored five goals in each game and, most notably, four short corners from four attempts against Trent. The potency from short corners appears to be another strength of the 1st XI when they are song. Rhiannon Rogers continued her scoring streak (a goal in every game since she openend her account) and Wiz Mumby was even more prolific.

After tough games against National League opposition in September the Repton girls have maintained incredibly high standards since, irrespective of the opposition. Ten goals in the final twenty five minutes against Trent shows that this team are not one to let standards drop no matter what the situation is. I hope that the girls have an enjoyable and restful half-term.
