Match Report:
Repton made a slow start and were clearly unsettled by having to play on grass. In contrast, Worksop started quite aggressively and made the most of their home advantage. Some weak defending from Repton allowed Worksop to feed a long ball through to their forward line who were quick to attack on the break and deservedly scored first. In the second half, Repton came back as a much more cohesive unit, thanks to some neat passing between Emily Renshaw, Ellie Clarke and Emily Gething Lewis. Laura Clague was also a particularly influential midfield player, intercepting wide passes and working intelligently with Tiffany Woodhead and Phoebe Whittome in the centre. Eventually, Emily Gething Lewis' pace on the right wing allowed her to take the ball skilfully around the left back in order to score, whilst Emily Renshaw was able to pick up a loose ball from the half-way line and successfully drive for goal. An accurate short corner strike that was beyond the keeper’s reach also contributed to the score-line before Harriet Celerier scored the last.
