Match Report:
This was a much more positive game from the U16As. During early pressure from Loughborough, the whole team defended much more tightly as a unit, preventing the opposition from attacking down the centre of the pitch. With Phoebe Whittome and Harriet Celerier in control at the back, Repton were then able to exploit the gap between the Loughborough midfield and defence. Emily Gething Lewis and Ellie Clark were influential up front, driving the ball forward and then slipping it neatly to Kami Lakhani who scored 4 goals in the first half. Sustained pressure from Repton also allowed Vicky Perkins to capitalise on a loose ball in the D which she hit smartly into the corner of the goal. In the second half, an impressive period of play from the Loughborough keeper kept the ball out of the goal and it was only towards the end of the match that Emily Renshaw finally scored a well deserved goal from near the top of the D.
