It was a real treat to watch the Under 16’s on such good form and this was a terrific start to the season despite them playing on an unfamiliar surface (savanna). Jameson was outstanding and really guided Setterington into three convincing wins. Setterington put some great volleys away and coped admirably with the pressure of the situation. Whittome and Celerier had a tough afternoon, and unfortunately for them, the opposition seemed to play particularly well against them. Having said that, they never ceased to try, and worked hard for every game without ever giving up and they were unlucky not to convert many of the game points they had in both of the sets they eventually lost. Finally Byas and Renshaw had a blinding afternoon and I have never seen them play so well. They ran down every ball and kept their heads especially when the score line got close. A brilliant performance overall; well done girls! NMO
