This was a really tough afternoon for the Under 15B team, not least for poor Sammy Evans who was really not well and should not have been playing…typically though, she turned out for the team, not wanting to let them down. Our opponents were tall, confident at net and powerful and on the alien astro surface, we simply couldn’t cope with it. We did improve as the afternoon went on, but couldn’t quite pinch the points that would give us the games. Well done to Ashurova and Hadeed however, who did manage to claim one victory against their third pair. Our performance today was sound, and we should not be discouraged by the result...we just need to learn to get a bit more wise to new surfaces and playing techniques. NMO
