Match Report:

The girls have had a good week of training since the match last Tuesday and have began to look like they did before half term. The girls started off well but soon began to get frustrated as they could not seem to do much when in the circle. All the play was down the middle of the pitch and we were getting caught holding the ball for too long and passing to the opposition, we were making life hard for ourselves. After a couple of near misses Ellie Sharples got a good goal from the post. We had a couple of penalty corners in the first half, again some chances missed but Pip Sanders got a good goal from a straight strike. This is a routine that has been practiced weekly but has eluded us, so it was good to finally get it right.

At half time we discussed some areas that need to be improved and set a target of putting them right in this half. The girls had a much better half with the majority of the play. We were using the width more and communicating with others. Meg Ewins got a good goal, the first of the season for her; Jess Hobday played a good strong ball into the circle for Ellie Sharples to finish off.  Ellie also scored another from a well thought out penalty corner sequence. Man of the match was awarded to Bethan, she played her best game yet, working well in midfield and contributing a great deal in open play.LJB
