Match Report:

What a thrilling match with which to begin the season! The Repton side arrived in a determined frame of mind and maintained their grit and motivation throughout the entirety of the match. We began positively, intercepting the Trent Centre pass. However, we lacked a little in confidence initially, perhaps due to this being our first match. The Trent side therefore scored four goals in relatively quick succession. This was primarily due to an extremely accurate GS for the opposition, as we had a similar number of opportunities to shoot at the goal. What was noteable, however, was that the girls did not allow this to dent their determination and they responded with a goal just before the end of the first quarter. The girls listened carefully to advice and acted on this effectively during the second quarter. They were far more hungry for the ball and worked hard to intercept the opposition's passes. Equally, the accuracy of their passing improved as the match progressed and they were much quicker to take their penalties.

By half time, therefore, we had drawn level due primarily to some accurate shooting from R. Higgins and A. Broadhurst. D. Collins as WD worked particularly hard, encouraging the team throughout to victory. The girls can be proud of their impressive comeback and they clearly have a promising season ahead of them. As we go forward we will need to continue to work on the accuracy of our passing, as well as ensuring that we are taking our time and thinking more carefully about our decisions. Congratulations, girls on such a fantastic start to the season! VLK
