Won 2 - 1

This was perhaps the most pleasing performance of the term so far. We were up against a highly rated Worksop team and as I was having to umpire (and therefore not able to coach from the side) I was a little concerned that the girls might lose their way a little. There also seemed to be a lack of focus before the game and two players were even late turning up for the pre-match meeting. My worries were unfounded, however, as the girls produced another hard working, organised and entertaining display. Lili Kettlewell scored early on with a backhand shot but other than this the two teams were very evenly matched. Second half, however, Repton were the stronger team and Charlie Perkins put the game beyond Worksop towards the end although they did score a deserved goal in the last minute. Georgie Whitehouse was again inspirational in the middle of the pitch but I was also delighted with the performances of the four defenders who have now only conceded four goals in six and a half hours hockey.
