Match Report:

Having drawn with Trent earlier in the term, in a game that we should have won convincingly, the girls were confident of going one better and winning the return fixture. However, we were surprised to find we were playing against a mixture of their best U.14 and U.13 year groups. This, in fact, made for a much closer game and a far greater challenge than it might otherwise have been and I was delighted by the way the players responded. Georgie Whitehouse, in particular, was magnificent in both defence and when in possession and she was able to set Phoebe Roberts and Frannie Beharrall on several attacks down the right wing. We still have a problem converting chances into goals, however, and this is partly due to need for further developments in basic skill technique (hitting the ball cleanly and consistently is the most pressing requirement amongst the whole squad). However each Repton player had a good game, working hard and showing composure and skill on the ball so I was pleased with the performance overall.          SJC
