Match Report:

All the progress made during training over the past few days paid off with a fine win away at Solihull. Lili Kettlewell and Georgie Whitehouse were far too experienced for our opponents and scored three goals each and Jess Lawrence and Ellie Jennings Edwards in the heart of the defence were rarely troubled. I was delighted by the way all the players tried to remain calm on the ball and dribble to space and, particularly in the second half, Franny Beharrell (Repton’s answer to Liverpool’s Glen Johnson) and Phoebe Roberts were unstoppable at right back and right midfield respectively. The other two goals came from Jess Variava and Amy Davies. The next step in this team’s development is to try and play with a little more width and try to switch the ball from right to left a little more often. All in all, however, a very encouraging start.
