Match Report:
As the score-line suggests, this was a far more competitive match than the win over at Solihull earlier in the week. It is to their credit that, in only their second game together, this group of players were able to produce such a pleasing performance against a well organised, athletics Kimbolton team. However, the fact that the Kimbolton goalkeeper was possibly the most influential player on the pitch does suggest that Repton might have won by one or two more goals. From the Repton point of view, Amy Davies (for her calmness and skill on the ball) and Charlie Perkins (for her two goals) can feel very satisfied with their performances and. Also, the ‘big’ three of Georgie Whitehouse, Lily Kettlewell and Phoebe Roberts were important – as much for their work rate as anything else. There is still much to do on set pieces and the shape of the team when we have the ball, but two away wins to start their Repton careers is very encouraging.
