Result: Qualified for Midlands Finals
Match Report: Repton continued their unbeaten start to the term with wins over Lady Manners and Anthony Gell and a scoreless draw with Trent. This ultimately meant that Trent became Derbyshire champions by virtue of having scored one more goal than us in the other two games. However, Repton as runner-up still qualify for the Midlands finals and at the current rate of improvement there is nothing to suggest that they won’t do very well. Yesterday, the girls showed that they are trying very hard to listen to advice and put into their matches what has been done in the training sessions. Every one of them is a more skilful and tactically aware player than they were a month ago and this is thanks to their hard working and conscientious approach to practices. Particularly impressive yesterday was Ellie Jennings Edwards who not only defended expertly but also launched several attacks through good passing and clever use of the self-pass. Lili Kettlewell also had an influential day, scoring two important goals and working tirelessly at centre-forward. Not for the first time this year, the biggest threat that Repton posed when in possession, however, was Phoebe Roberts and her pace and skill created several chances throughout the day.
