C Jameson/S Patel : 6 - 1, 6-2, 6-2

H Alton/W Mumby: 6-1, 6-0, 6-0

H Slater/S Davies: 5-7, 2-6, 7-5

This was a fantastic start to the season as the results above show. The performance of the day was by Alton and Mumby who only dropped one game all afternoon. Their dominance at the baseline and net was simply too much for their opponents. Close on their heals were Patel and Jameson who also dominated the games, and they forced errors from their opponents not only through sheer power, but some really clever tactical play. Finally S Davies and H Slater who were making their debut performance for the 1st team had a great afternoon and fought so hard to win their rubbers even though two of them narrowly went to our opponents. However, they had a great game against the second pair and really found form by the end of the afternoon. NMO
