Girls' 3rd XI v Welbeck

Venue: 12.45 p.m. dep for Welbeck College.  3.15 p.m. start

Team:  S Willis, N Chadwick, L Chatterton, S Stewart, S Young, L Haynes, L Galbraith, C Mok, V Mistry, A Etherington, A O'Brien.

Result:  Won 2-0

Match Report:  This was another successful win for the 3rd X1, although there was scope for more goals. Repton kept possession and play started well: the ball never leaving the Repton attacking quater.  A drive down the middle by Sophie Willis secured Repton’s first goal brilliantly. Play continued frustratingly and Lois Haynes was unlucky not to score, this coupled with a number of failed short corner strikes. The defence, however, coped well under any pressure put on by the Welbeck side, keeping the score at 1-0. After half time Repton looked fresher and were able to score our second goal through a fantastic cross from Sarah Stewart, finished perfectly by Lydia Galbraith. Sophie Young also had some key drives from defence and was also unlucky not to score. Despite numerous injuries on the day, this was a very rewarding and enjoyable penultimate match for Repton.                                                                                   Sophie Willis/LHB
