This was a great day for tennis and the girls started their matches in high spirits. Stewart and Broomhall against faced the challenge of playing on astro which although difficult, is a technique they will need to master if they are to secure future success. More focus on the game and indeed the game plan should also help in future matches as they have the potential to be an effective couple. Taylor and Richardson played some lovely rallies against Rugby and made them work hard for every point but we couldn’t quite clinch the game points that would put us in the lead. R Brown and K Richardson were playing together for the first time and as time went on, they started to work well as a pair. Despite the overall score this was a very pleasant afternoon and one that gives us much food for thought….not least to make us realise that our opponents won many of their points through sheer hard work and running for the ball which was something we were not so keen to do in some quarters.
