Match Report:
Despite the scoreline, this was not an especially high quality match; Repton played effectively enough though to secure a convincing win. Worksop defended strongly and got numbers behind the ball, recognising the attacking threat of the Repton team. Frustratingly, too much of the play was 'down the middle' and on the edge of a very congested attacking 'D'. It took the Repton players a long time to realise that they would be more successful if they were able to change the point of their attacks, moving the ball quickly and using the full width of the pitch. Nonetheless, Repton were 3-0 up at half time and scored another two goals in the second half. Becky Lawrence and Charlotte Jacques played particularly well and looked solid at the back: so much so that Worksop were reduced to one goalscoring opportunity throughout the match. Otherwise it was a capable, but unspectacular, team performance.
