Girls' 2nd XI v Welbeck

Date: Saturday 5th December

Venue: Welbeck College (away) - Depart 12.45pm

Team: Dunford, Smale, Jacques, Watson, Lawrence, Rauf, Lamb, Barker (Capt.), Cope, Brook, Parkinson, Matthews, Davies, Burns (14)

Result: Won 2-1

Match Report: It was a shame that the 2nd XIs last match of the term lacked the quality of so many of their performances. Welbeck proved to be difficult to break down and their tireless defensive work meant that Repton created very few real chances, despite having the upper hand in terms of possession. A much deserved goal for Alex Brook settled nerves, although it was clear that a one goal lead would be unlikely to see us through. Sure enough, Welbeck equalised through their most potent player, who played well in the centre of their midfield. The drama continued though as Sophie Davies scored a stunning goal from the push-back to give Repton their lead back! With some time left to play, Repton did well to secure the win - even though much of the second half was rather scrappy.

The result was especially pleasing as it ensured the 2nd XIs unbeaten season - well done to all.

Scorers - Brook, Davies
