Match Report:
This was a convincing win with good performances by all players involved. The first half was closely matched and only one goal separated the two teams at half time - courtesy of a well taken goal by Freide Juncker. The play up to this point was rather scrappy, with both team's attempting to attack up the middle of the pitch. So, whilst Repton seemed to be the better team, the scoreline failed to reflect this and corrective action was needed. In the second half. Repton were far more effective in using the full width of the pitch, as well as passing the ball on - rather than always trying to dribble past players. In doing so, Repton established themsleves as much the stronger team and went on to score four goals in the second half. Sophie Davies and Charlotte Jacques both scored to take the score to 3-0, which afforded the team the breathing space to really play their best hockey. Lucy Watson was composed in defence and Georgia Horn was a strong contender for 'player of the match'. Sophie Davies had her best match of the term, taking up high positions and using her stick skills to devastating effect - particularly when scoring her second goal, which was certainly the pick of the five gaols. Friede Juncker grabbed a second goal, with a composed finish. This concluded a very satisying win. It has been particularly pleasing that in each match so far this term, all players have made a genuine effort to implement ideas that have been set out in training - despite this, short corners still need particular attention!

Scorers - Juncker (2), Jacques, Davies (2)
