Match Report:
This was a much-needed stern test for the 1st XI ahead of the County Championships this week. For the first fifteen minutes of the game, Oundle asserted considerable pressure on the Repton back-line who were struggling to maintain possession for the long periods that they are used to. Forwards were too focused on scoring whenever they got the ball rather than helping the team to release pressure by simply keeping the ball to help build more meaningful attacks.

Although Repton improved as the half wore on, I would not say that they were fully deserving of the one goal lead they had to take in to half time after Shona McCallin had followed up a short corner to slide home the rebound.

The second half of the game saw an improvement as Repton were more in control of possession than they were in the first half. Sophie Hawkins was equal to the task of an Oundle counter-attacks and Laura Smith played an equally important role having switched to the back-line. Despite the improvement clear chances were few and far between and it took an excellent move started by Rosie Johnson and deflected home by Rhiannon Rogers to double the score-line.

The County Championships are now on Thursday with Anthony Gell and Trent the opposition.
