Report: After a lengthy practice the day before, the girls were a little too sharp for their opponents today. Speeding to a 3-0 lead against Worksop helped to the girls to play with confidence and zip the ball around quickly. Sophie Hawkins was solid and pulled the strings at the back and this helped Shona McCallin and Becky Siebert to play with plenty of freedom when in possession.
Polesworth offered a different challenge in the final game and it was a struggle to play any attractive or effective hockey in the first half. The improvements after half-time were mainly based around retaining possession for longer periods and this opened up more space. Six second half goals were scored and the play of the day was an eight-pass two touch move which was delivered hard in to the circle by Sophie Hawkins and deflected high in to the net by Becky Siebert.
Well done to all those involved and thanks to SJC for his excellent umpiring.
