Match Report:

The firsts dominated this fixture throughout, showing some real class in both their execution and sportsmanship. Saar and Patel played some very accomplished tennis indeed, and did not fall into the trap of becoming complacent as the gap between them and their opponents became incontrovertibly apparent. That they demand the highest standards of themselves was manifest in every game.
Mumby and Alson showed some excellent communication in their victories, ensuring that Oakham could find no way through their defences, and, in turn, seldom had the respite a shot that wasn’t putting them on the back foot. Their matches were all embellished with some edge-of-the-seat rallies at the net, where one regretted that anyone had to lose; Repton rarely did.
Jameson and Baker had a more competitive set of rubbers, but, having worked hard together to weather the storm presented by Oakham’s first pairing in their first set, they found their stride and took control of the match, playing with real composure and impressive shot selection. All the girls can take pride in a good day’s work, clinically and graciously carried out.
