Written mostly by the pupils with some input from members of staff, this year’s dramatic offering from the Senior Literary Society took the form of a sketch show staged in Beldam Hall.
Comprising a heady mixture of the hilarious, the dark and the downright bizarre, audiences on the two nights were treated to a variety of intelligent and well-written material showcasing the literary and dramatic talent which is to be found at Repton. Among the twenty sketches were a witty exploration of the language of rap, a moving piece about schizophrenia, a wry take on the Stockholm Syndrome, a parody of the middle class and daytime talk shows, a defence of headlice, a satire on French Surrealist Poetry, and a poem about Hell as seen from a clubber’s perspective.
Enjoyed by pupils, parents and staff alike, it was a thoroughly entertaining evening.
