A crack squad of seven boys emerged triumphant on Sunday, 8th May in the Junior Inter-House Five-a-side Football competition. Robbie, Ryan, Ed, George, Jones, Joel and Charlie combined to score sixteen goals and conceded only one in two games. A bye through the first round saw The Cross meet School House in the semi-final; however, in a devastating twelve minutes of play, twelve unanswered goals were notched, securing a place in the final against The Priory. After a tight start, four goals were scored by the red and blacks before The Priory scored their consolation goal. Sunday’s result caps a superb year for The Cross’ junior footballers; the A and O Block Sixes tournament was won by the house back in September and only snow in December prevented B and A Block contesting a final against The Orchard for the Junior House Match trophy. Congratulations to all of the junior boys who have represented the house so magnificently in 2010/11!
