Field House Finish with a Flourish

The final competitive event of the Lent term finished with mixed fortunes for the House. Both the senior A and B teams had reached the final of the netball knockout competitions and were looking forward to the prospect of a double. The senior Bs played a great game dominating much of the possession and passing the ball fluidly. At the end of the match the scores were level and the game went into extra time. Unfortunately, despite continued pressure the girls couldn't score the vital goal to secure victory and ended up as valiant runners-up to the Abbey. In the A team the girls also played superbly. Their quick movement and confident handling led to frequent opportunities and the team were always just ahead of a strong Mitre side. They needed a cushion because in the third quarter they were pushed hard and Mitre closed the gap. In the end the goal scoring of Sarah Parkin and Harriet Hunt enabled the team to win the closely fought contest.
