Our annual Bands Concerts herald the start of the Christmas celebrations here at Repton and are always popular events enjoyed by pupils, parents and the local community.
This year the Concerts will be held at 7:30pm in Pears School on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th December and, for the first time, we are delighted to welcome younger players from Foremarke Winds, fresh from their success at the recent National Concert Band Festival. The programme, chosen and directed by Mr Mark Cadman, promises to cater for all tastes, with numbers ranging from traditional Christmas classics such as Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire and Silent Night to contemporary favourites from the Blues Brothers and the theme from Wallace and Gromit.
The Repton Jazz Band, under the expert leadership of Mr Richard Fairbrother, will also be setting toes tapping with a selection of jazz, swing and Latin numbers, and the evening will culminate with all three bands joining forces for a festive finale!
