Farewell to Miss K!

Farewell to Miss K!

Tonight saw our final farewell to Miss Kinmond, our resident tutor, who leaves us this term to take up her new position as an English teacher at Stowe School.

Miss Kinmond (or as the girls affectionately call her – Miss K) has spent the last 3 years of her Repton career in the Mitre as resident tutor. She has become a firm favourite with the girls always providing a listening ear for them and often giving out tea and sympathy in her flat. She was also a huge help and inspiration with English work, even to girls in the House she did not teach, and many essays have been improved by her care and attention.

She will be hugely missed by the girls of the Mitre, and I know that memories of her stylish outfits, drives down to the English department and her enthusiasm for the House will live on.

It was a fitting end to her time in the House that as their goodbye to her the girls enjoyed ice-cream and chocolate fountain with their supper, and then followed this with a “girlie night” watching the film “Knight and Day” and eating popcorn in pj’s and covered in duvets – just the kind of boarding school evening with which to end the term.
