We began the Fives campaign with low expectations, having not got through the first round for almost a decade . But, against New House, favourites of the competition, we pulled through with a victory in both the first and second pair. We had won before the third pair had even finished, and we had completely trashed them.
Next round, the week after, we had drawn School House. Having beaten Cross in the previous round, we were expecting tough opposition. But we flew through again. Winning all three pairs easily.
With the trophy in sight, the Orchard Junior Fives team was in high spirits. And having approached the game confident of prevailing over our opponents, Priory, we were victors, for the first time in living memory.
