Teaching Vacancies

TEACHER OF FRENCH

An inspirational and well-qualified graduate is required for this well-resourced department in August 2017. Applications are equally welcome from experienced teachers, those seeking a first move or those new to the profession.

Modern Foreign Languages are strong at Repton. All Year 9 pupils are taught French on arrival at the School and begin either German or Spanish. French, German and Spanish are offered as a core IGCSE and a significant number of pupils also take a second Modern Foreign Language to IGCSE. French, German and Spanish are all offered to A-level. We also offer Mandarin and Japanese off-timetable. The successful candidate would be expected to teach French to Oxbridge level.

TEMPORARY HEAD OF ETHICAL AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES

The School is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to lead its Ethical and Religious Studies department during the academic year 2017/2018 by way of maternity cover.  It is likely that the maternity cover will start in September 2017.

The successful candidate will be a well-qualified graduate and have an enthusiasm for the subject, a capacity for innovation and the ability to inspire young people. He or she will place a particular importance on achieving the best possible results in external examinations and maximising the potential of each student in the subject. To achieve this, the successful candidate will need the broad and thorough subject knowledge required to teach the subject to Oxbridge level.

TEMPORARY TEACHER OF ETHICAL AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES

The School is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to teach in its Ethical and Religious Studies department during the academic year 2017/2018 by way of maternity cover. It is likely that the maternity cover will start in September 2017.

The department is located in the recently refurbished Furneaux School at the centre of the school site. We have four large and well-equipped classrooms and a generously-sized office space which we share with the Classics department. 
 
There is a thriving extra-curricular philosophy society, the Hampshire Society, which engages individuals of all years and abilities in a broad range of philosophical debates and activities. The successful candidate should expect and be able to play a major part in the continued development of the society.

TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS

Repton School is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Mathematics for August 2017. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified graduate and have an enthusiasm for the subject and the ability to inspire young people. He or she should be a passionate advocate of the subject and enthusiastic about teaching at all levels and to all abilities.  The successful candidate should be able to teach Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Statistics to A-level and possess the broad and thorough subject knowledge required to teach the subject to Oxbridge level.

SAXOPHONE TEACHER
Repton School is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated saxophone teacher to work within its thriving and ambitious music department. The successful candidate will teach individual saxophone lessons, direct the School's saxophone ensemble 'SaxPack' and liaise regularly with the Head of Popular Music who directs the School's outstanding Jazz Band.
The role would suit a teacher who has both experience and enthusiasm for teaching both classical and jazz styles, including improvisation. The role is part time, currently one day a week with some flexibility as to the day of work.

FOUNDATION DIRECTOR

Repton School is seeking to appoint a highly talented fundraising professional who will lead the fundraising and development activities for the Repton Foundation. Reporting directly to the Headmaster, and the Chairman of the Repton Foundation, the Foundation Director will lead the fundraising and development activities for the Repton Foundation and the alumni relations operations of Repton School.
