Two of our GCSE students have achieved A* grades in each of their examination subjects this year– and that means an incredible 11 grades each at the highest level.
Jessica Stewart (A) and Jake Tobin (S), have proved to be “top of the class”, but more than a quarter (28%) of GCSEs sat this year here at Repton were awarded an A* and well over half – 64% - either achieved an A* or an A.
In addition to the Year 11 students who have achieved these excellent results, a number of Year 10 candidates taking Maths or French a year early have also achieved the best of results. Of the 12 who took French early, 11 have been awarded an A* and 23 of the students who sat Maths early achieved an A* too.
Commenting on the results, Headmaster Robert Holroyd said: “It is excellent news that such a high proportion of our pupils have achieved the highest possible grades.
“To see so many of our early candidates do the same is also pleasing, particularly as they have done so in traditional subjects on which universities say students should concentrate.
“Congratulations are due to both our candidates and to the staff that have taught them. They should all feel very proud of what has been achieved.”
GCSE exams were sat by 132 Year 11 Repton School students this year.
