The first Sunday of term saw the entirety of the new B Block undertake the challenge of our annual ‘Repton Factor’. The day is designed to give new pupils a chance to get to know each other by working together on a wide variety of challenges.
Each team was put together at random from pupils across the year group. The teams then competed against each other in a bid to score the highest ‘Repton Factor.’ Jokers had to be used wisely as when played in advance of a task, the score for that activity was doubled. This meant that the teams had to play to their strengths, whether it be on the Sports Challenge, which required accurate shooting, the Drama Challenge, where they had to create the word ‘Repton’ with their bodies, or on the Command Task, which required careful concentration and team-work. A particular highlight this year was the brand new DT Challenge, which meant that the pupils were, for once, encouraged to make paper aeroplanes in class as well as the Art Challenges, which required the pupils to think both laterally and creatively; no easy task!
The conclusion of the afternoon saw staff and pupil gathered together for tea and cake, where the winning team was revealed to be ‘Team Prior’, who excelled in the Quiz, as well as the Sports Challenge, where they were eight points ahead of their nearest rivals.
Many thanks must go to the members of staff who gave so generously of their time on Sunday to provide such an entertaining day, as well as congratulations to the entire B Block year group, who threw themselves into the activities with such verve and enthusiasm.
