Cuba will be the destination for a combined Spanish and Music Department trip next December, in what promises to be a unique opportunity to experience the cultural and musical heritage of the fascinating Caribbean country.

With bases in the cities of Havana and Trinidad, the trip will take in stunning hotels and exciting visits, while our travel company will arrange and promote two choral and one jazz concert in which our young musicians can showcase their talents.
The final cost of the tour, which will include flights, transfers, hotel accommodation, all meals and excursions and travel insurance will be dependent on popularity, but is expected to be in the region of £1,400.

To quote from the travel company’s brochure:
“Cuba is a spellbinding cocktail of epic colonial architecture, wonderful white, sandy beaches, swaying fields of sugar cane, beautiful scenery, Che Guevara murals and passionate young salsa dancers; stirred with a dash of rum. Old Havana is a unique, crumbling gem, beguiling, captivating and frustrating; whilst the cities of Trinidad and Cienfuegos offer charming colonial architecture and ecotourism. This is an island of unique historical heritage floating amid a sea of encroaching globalisation: the growing tourist sector juxtaposed against the Cuba of communist myth.”
