Daily Telegraph Award

For the second successive year Repton has been nominated for an award in the Daily Telegraph School Sports Matters Awards. After last year’s success in winning the Independent School and Female Sportsperson of the year, the Girls’ 1st XI Hockey squad has been nominated for Team of the year.

Not only was their 2008/2009 season was one of the best the School has ever seen but it culminated when the squad broke a long-standing national record by winning the National Schools Championship for Girls for the fifth year in succession without conceding a single goal.

Victory in the competition, which is open to state and independent schools across the country, underlines the consistent high quality of the game at the School and shows that its continued good results on the pitch come from an all-round well-prepared squad.

The results from the 2008/2009 season illustrate how successful the team has been.
