Choirgirl of the Year Entrant

Amelia Anderson (4F) has been entered for the title of 'Choirgirl of the Year' by her singing teacher, Mrs Ann O'Brien and for the initial round she is required to submit two recordings of her pieces. This is very exciting for Amelia as it is a national competition and for those who reach the final stages there are many opportunities, including their pieces being broadcast on the radio.

The new recording studio was superb when capturing Amelia's performances of 'Ex Ore Innocentum Est' by John Ireland and 'All My Hope On Thee Is Founded' by Herbert Howells. With Amelia singing in the newly mic'd Beldam Hall accompanied on Piano by Mrs Christine Palmer, Mr Fairbrother was making the recording in the new studio; viewing the performance on video link and giving directions through the sound system. The process was quite technical and time consuming but also extremely enjoyable and all involved learned even more about the resources available through this new facility.

Good luck to Amelia with her competition entry.
