This weekend the girls of the Mitre took a trip down the rabbit-hole, in what was certainly a magical and enchanting evening. This year’s Sixth Form Invitational Dinner was inspired by the theme ‘Alice in Wonderland’. The girls worked hard all afternoon to transform the Mitre into their very own Wonderland, complete with White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and even inflatable pink flamingos. Welcome drinks were held under the fairy lights in the private side, where they also had a chance to have a professional photograph taken before sitting down to dinner.
Served with aplomb by the A and O-Block pupils, the Sixth Form sat down to heart-shaped croutons with pâté followed by a creamy leek and chicken pie. Brightly coloured cupcakes, decorated by the girls themselves, concluded the meal, along with a chocolate fountain. The atmosphere was delightful, with plenty of fun and laughter emanating from the dining room. There is no doubt that the evening provided the girls with a welcome escape to Wonderland from the real world of revision and examinations. The only disappointment was the fact that it had to come to an end after all the weeks of planning.
The money raised from the evening will go to local Charity "Mee and Dee" which raises funds to offer treats to create special moments and memories where time is precious.
There are official photos of the evening to follow so please do look out for these on the gallery in the coming days.
