The House made a superb effort yesterday in the Caroline Tyler relays to take 2nd place in the event.
The team proved very difficult to organise with so many girls wanting to swim for the House that we did not have enough places for them all! There were a number of girls too who had been attending early morning swimming sessions in order to get some experience in the pool and we are delighted with the part that the whole team played in the races.

The House went down in rousing spirits having been given a resounding speech by Head of House – Emily Renshaw U6M and there was plenty of pink and blue on show both poolside and on the balcony. So many members of the House came to support that there was not room for them on the balcony and they had to be sent away! The B Block had spent most of Thursday afternoon between games options producing some great banners and these were proudly displayed poolside to spur on the Mitre team.
The year groups all did well in their events with the A Block coming 2nd in their relay and once again the O Block put in a convincing win in their part of the relay. The medley relay saw all year groups swimming superbly and it was impressive to see the team come 2nd in this part of the event. With this race carrying double points it was especially impressive to see Mitre take 2nd place and it was a mark of the House spirit that the loudest cheer on the balcony of the afternoon came as Mitre touched down on the wall in this final relay!

A special mention to B block girls who participated in their first major house event! Their house spirit and effort was second to none!
Well done girls and many thanks indeed to Mrs Rushton for once again organising a marvellous afternoon in memory of OR Caroline Tyler.
