Cabaret night a Disney-themed success

Cabaret night a Disney-themed success

The House Cabaret is always one of the highlights of the year in the Abbey and this time round was no exception. With every member of the house contributing, like previously it turned out to be a raving success.

Having all taken part in the Sale of work earlier in the day the race was on to transform the house into a setting for the Disney themed cabaret. The parents were wined and dined, with the L6th waitressing on each of the Disney themed tables, and were then entertained, being taken through the world of Disney by each year group and an array of individual acts.

The U6th opened with their very energetic rendition of “I’ll make a man out of you” from Mulan, this set the standards high for the rest of the night with each act after matching their success and performing at as high a quality. A-Block finished the house acts with a remix of “The Bare Necessities” and “I wanna be like you” and the night was thought to be over ... however of course, the house having all sung there hearts out, felt it was only fair that it was now the parents turn . And so (with the house helping of course) the night did finish with a sing-a-long to “In the Jungle”. Overall it was a brilliant night, and a great start to the second half of the term.

Thanks must go to Mick Wolford for giving up his Saturday night and time to produce some wonderful photos of the night., which can be seen on  Abbey Gallery.
