Result: L 4-2

Match Report:

The boys were somewhat unlucky to lose this game as throughout the whole match they had the majority of the possession, passing the ball around the Rugby team confidently. Unfortunately mistakes led to the Rugby goals, who took their opportunities when presented seeing us fall behind to a score of three nil at the end of the first half. If anything to be critical of the Repton team we seemed want to do too much with the ball rather than passing and moving the ball on after beating the first man. This resulted in multiple moves breaking down as we approached Rugby’s D, giving them possession.

As we got under way in the second half, the boys had learnt from their previous errors and put Rugby’s defence under pressure, winning a number of short corners. Both Prutton and Chandler attempted to add Repton onto the score sheet but Rugby’s keeper appeared to have the better of us. As we continued to search for a goal, we were caught in possession in midfield, which ultimately saw Rugby add another to their tally, although clever moves from Jones and Hyde-Barker put Repton onto the score sheet in the final few minutes.
