Match Report: This was a more robust performance than the Newcastle game and, on balance, a decent result against tough, physical opposition. Repton used the ball more intelligently and worked much harder in defence too. Worksop proved resilient and few chances came Repton's way, despite dominating possession in the midfield. Dom Chaffey steadied things in midlfield, whilst Rob Taylor gave a very good performance up front, as did Mikey Thomas who was arguably the Man of the match. Luke Croson defended well - he now needs to work on improving his ball distribution.
Worksop scored in the first half, against the run of play and grew more confident as a result. Nonetheless, Repton remained calm and played patient, structured hockey with an emphasis on 'pass and move'. This served them well. By creating plenty of pressure around the Worksop goal, a number of short corners were won: Jonathan Rowles managed to score from a broken down move to equalise. From this point on, Repton rarely looked like conceding a goal - neither did they look like scoring either!
