Venue: Away - Depart 1.45pm
Team: Jopson (GK), Eldred, Porter, Croson, Rowles, Priestley, Thomas (Captain), Noakes, Findlay, Chapman, Taylor, Prutton, Winfield, Riley (14)
Result: Lost 2-1
Match Report: This was a really poor performance that took this team back to their bad old ways. A lack of positional structure created gaps for the opposition to exploit and made it hard for us to make good use of the ball in possession. Basic skills were forgotten and too many players lacked the kind of composure that has become such a strength in recen performances. Newcastle were certainly the better team in the first half and deerved the lead. Repton did their best and were rewarded with a penalty that Mikey Thomas converted. Max Riley and Andrew Findlay gave us an attacking outlet in the second half; sadly, we were unable to take advantage of our chances though. Newcastle always looked more likely to score and did so to earn the victory. Andrew Jopson played very well in goal - otherwise, as much as the boys tried hard, this was not a game to remember and I hope to see them consign this game to the back of their minds!
Scorer - M.Thomas
